Meet the Sacramento Team Behind Benson ADU Sacramento
Most ADU companies send a salesperson to your door and a crew you’ve never met to build it. We don’t work that way. The people who show up for your free estimate are the same people who frame the walls, pull the permits, and walk you through the final inspection. Troy Eastman runs this Sacramento team personally, and the four people below are the ones you’ll actually see on site. Same crew from first measurement to final walkthrough. No surprises, no rotating cast of subcontractors you’ve never met.
Our People

Troy Eastman, Owner & Lead Builder
Troy has been building residential additions and ADUs in Sacramento since 2006, when prefab was still a word most homeowners raised an eyebrow at. He’s the one who walks your lot first, takes the measurements himself, and writes the price you’ll see before any work starts. If a project hits a snag, he’s the one calling you to explain what happened and what the fix costs. Ask him about the detached ADU in East Sacramento where the soil report came back worse than expected. He’ll tell you the story straight, including the part where he ate the cost of a deeper footing because the written price was the written price. Troy holds a California general contractor’s license and has built with every prefab brand we offer, from Abodu and Cover to Boxabl and Dvele.
Marcus D., Senior Installer & Prefab Specialist
Marcus has spent the last nine years focused almost entirely on prefab panel and factory-built ADU installations. He’s certified on Abodu, Cover, and Boxabl systems, which matters when a panel arrives from the factory and needs to be set within a quarter inch of plan. He’s the crew’s problem-solver, the guy who figures out how to crane a module into a tight Midtown lot without taking down the neighbor’s fence. Marcus is also a certified forklift operator, which sounds minor until you watch a prefab module come off a truck. Off the clock, he restores a 1968 Chevy C10 and will talk your ear off about it if you let him.
Leah R., Service Coordinator & Permitting Lead
Leah is the voice on the phone and the person making sure the paperwork doesn’t stall your project. She handles the permit package, coordinates with the building department, and sends you the digital invoice link when a payment milestone comes due. Before joining Benson ADU, she spent six years working in Sacramento construction offices, so she knows which city departments move fast and which ones need a nudge. Leah keeps every project file updated in real time, and if you call at 2 a.m. wondering about your permit status, the live person who answers is either Leah or someone who can reach her. She’s also the one who schedules the before-and-after photos so you have a clean record of every phase.
Chris T., Apprentice Builder
Chris started with Benson ADU two years ago after finishing a pre-apprenticeship program in Sacramento. He works under Troy and Marcus on framing, finish carpentry, and site prep. He’s the junior member of the crew, but he’s not a gofer. Chris runs the laser level, checks square on every wall, and keeps the job site clean enough that you won’t find fast food wrappers in your yard. He’s studying for his general contractor’s license and asks a lot of questions, which is exactly what you want from someone learning the trade on your property. When he’s not working, Chris coaches youth soccer through a Sacramento rec league. He’s got the patience of someone who teaches eleven-year-olds to play defense, and it shows in how carefully he explains things to homeowners.
One Standard, Every Job
Every Benson ADU location is independently owned and operated, but the standard doesn’t change from one city to the next. The 365-Day Done Right Promise means if something isn’t right within a full year, Troy makes it right. The written price before any work starts means the number you sign is the number you pay. The written guarantee on every project covers what it says it covers, in plain English, for a full year. And if a covered repair fails, the second visit is free. Marcus doesn’t get to skip a detail because he’s tired. Leah doesn’t get to pass a permit issue down the road. Chris doesn’t get to frame a wall out of square and call it close enough. That’s what the Relay Visibility Guarantee is about across the whole family of independently owned locations. The Sacramento team works to one standard because that’s the only way a written guarantee means anything.
